INSTRUCTIONS

 

Answer as many questions from the list below as you would like.

Video yourself answering the question in a location with good lighting and no background noise. Keep your answers short and concise, they should not exceed 1 minute.

Recording instructions:

  • Record each answer in a separate video.

  • Press record and wait 3 seconds before speaking.

  • State the question you are answering then wait 3 seconds before starting your answer.


Send us your videos.  Options:​

  • Share your videos using a file-sharing service like Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer.

  • If you have a Gmail account, you may email your videos to blkauthorexpo@gmail.com

  3. What would you say is your strength as a writer?

  4. What is the most difficult part of your writing process?

  5. How many books have you written and which is your favorite?

  6. What do you need in your writing space to help you stay focused?

  7. What’s your favorite writing snack or drink?

  8. How do you celebrate when you finish your book?

  9. What is the most valuable piece of advice you’ve been given about writing?

  10. How do you come up with character names for your stories?

  11. Has writing and publishing a book changed the way you see yourself?

  12. What do the words “literary success” mean to you? How do you picture it?

  13. If you had to describe yourself in just three words, what would those be?

  14. Share something about yourself that your readers don’t know (yet).
