Lisa R. Thomas, M.Ed. is the author of Little Sammy Square Finds His Voice, the first book in her Shapesville Elementary Series. She is a Certified Professional School Counselor Specialist for Maryland’s fourth-largest school district. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Frostburg State University and a graduate degree in School Counseling from Bowie State University.

Lisa currently mentors and trains school counselors, consults with parents, and writes children’s books on a wide range of character and social development issues that many children face. Her books aim to help children bounce back from the challenges in their lives by increasing confidence, self-esteem, self-control, and the use of coping strategies.

In her free time, Lisa loves to travel to the beach with her wonderfully supportive husband, Russell, her four adult children, Mikaela, Bonus-Son Devonte’, Dylan, and Allison, and the family fur baby, Finley.
